Brainerd Farmers' Market Saturday's from 10am to 1pm
In the parking lot of Grace Episcopal Church on Brainerd at Belvoir.
Grace is bringing the farm to Brainerd for the summer and fall! Thanks to the efforts of the Outreach Ministry Team and the church's Food and Faith group, a number of local farmers will bring their home-grown produce and meats to the Brainerd parking lot each Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Market visitors will walk away with fresh, nourishing, chemical-free, and often beautiful produce that has been grown in ways that sustain the earth instead of depleting it.
Purchasing naturally grown food close to home will foster health and well-being in the community and increase awareness of the benefits to bodies, spirits and even the economy of the area. It can also help remind us of our crucial connection to the earth and encourage us to become better stewards by supporting local producers, who finance their continuing production of quality food through the sales of their crops. Becoming aware of where our bodily sustenance actually comes from and supporting those who produce it will let us develop an elemental awareness of the earth as the table we all share with our own communities and with the world as a whole. The Saturday parking lot, like the sacramental meal, will show a true sharing of sustenance in the lives of people throughout the church and the community, letting us live the fact that we are all fed through the power of a single source. Plus shopping at the Market, seeing your neighbors and friends, and listening to the impromptu (mostly) musical offerings, is just plain fun.
Farmers will be bringing all the usual seasonal vegetables, fruits and herbs. In addition you will find meat and coffee.
