Heifer Ranch Mission 2018

Picture

Heifer Youth Mission
June 3 - 8, 2018

This summer, Grace Church Youth are teaming up with youth from area Episcopal churches for a joint summer mission experience at the Heifer Ranch in Perryville, Arkansas, where we will learn about global poverty relief and the environment while working on the farm and growing in our faith.

Who

All youth in grades *6 - 12 are invited. There will be age appropriate activities for all participants. Parents/ Caretakers: Please let Zack know if you would be interested in chaperoning.

When

Sunday, June 3 through Friday, June 8, 2018

Where/What

Heifer's programs are primarily educational and teach participants about the causes, challenges and sustainable solutions to hunger and poverty. Many programs include service activities that primarily focus on assisting with daily chores on the farm such as gardening, working with livestock and helping with farm maintenance.

Why

The purpose of church mission trips and service projects is multifaceted: It is a chance to help people in need in meaningful ways, while exposing youth to people, cultures, attitudes, and beliefs different than what they might at home. Most of all, it is a chance to build strong community and lasting friendships within the youth group and to explore what it means to be part of a Christian community.

Cost

This year we are asking a suggested $150 family contribution from those who can afford it, in order to help offset housing, transportation and food expenses.  Scholarships are available if needed.  Please don't hesitate to contact Zack if you could use assistance.
